My work revolves around the feminist movement in India. I use charcoal and oil to represent the unspoken words of women’s suffering and the pain they go through on a day-to-day basis. I want to express feminine energy in my work and try to convey raw emotion through a combination of colour and light and dark. I am inspired by the work of Arpita Singh as well as literary work of feminists such as Gayatri Spivak.
