My work is a reaction to the lack of queer spaces and an exploitation of the gallery for queer and trans visibility. Creating physical, paper posters puts queer images physically into the world in the same way live performance does. This has become particularly important to me since Covid – a way of connecting, archiving and maintaining community without physical space and interactions. Zines and posters are objects that can be sent to and live in your home, be placed in a gallery, distributed in the street. In an era when everything is online, monitored and censored, making printed work as a queer person feels like an act of rebellion.
